my story

In 2016, I embarked on what I thought was just a job: an entry-level Human Resources position at a global commercial real estate firm. Initially, it was just a means to an end—a way to pay bills, fund my travels, home improvements, and obsessive gardening habits.

As time passed, however, I found myself increasingly drawn into the world of HR. Through exposure to new challenges, diverse projects, and the ever-evolving corporate landscape, what started as "just a job" blossomed into a genuine passion. I discovered a deep satisfaction in process improvement, building cross-team relationships to streamline operations, and mentoring colleagues. Special projects and new platform launches became opportunities for growth rather than just tasks.

By 2022, I had progressed into a leadership role at another organization, but I chose to step away in 2023 to pursue my Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management as I was so drawn to the field and wanted to grow my knowledge base and understanding in ways that I had not been exposed to at the time. This decision allowed me to volunteer at a local hospice center, applying my HR skills in a new context. However, the most rewarding aspect of this hiatus from the corporate world was the opportunity to fully embrace my pregnancy and welcome my daughter into the world. Balancing coursework, volunteering, and first-time motherhood proved challenging, yet immensely fulfilling.

During this period of reflection and growth, I discovered a new calling: assisting individuals in their job search, whether within their current organization or in the broader market. I realized I could leverage my skills and interests to help others connect their own abilities with their career aspirations. It's often challenging for people to articulate their value in resumes and cover letters, and even more daunting to prepare for the often-intimidating job interview. I found that I had a passion for guiding others through these crucial steps in their career.

By helping candidates showcase their strengths and navigate the complexities of job applications and interviews, I could make a meaningful impact on their professional lives. This realization not only aligned with my HR background but also tapped into my desire to empower others in their career development.

Reflecting on my journey, it's remarkable how a career I never envisioned for myself has become such an integral part of my life. When I started that first HR job, I couldn't have predicted the path it would lead me down.

Crazy how the universe unfolds, isn't it?
